What to buy in October
Happy October everyone. October is the time to buy… Pumpkins of course, but there are some other early autumn deals to be aware of as well.

Theme parks and other vacation spots:
Theme park and other holiday locations are well priced in October because kids just got back in the swing of school, the weather is cooling, the holidays are upon us, and people simply aren’t flying in droves to fun theme park vacations. But if you can take some time off, this is a good time to go visit say, Disney World. You’ll save loads on discounted package deals. Also, you won’t have to wait in such long lines - always a big perk.
Trees & shrubs:
If you need to pump up your landscaping, now is the time. Early autumn is a good time to buy trees and shrubs which go for far less right now then in the spring. Unless you plant them, or have the means to keep them all inside, trees and shrubs won’t survive the winter, so nurseries mark them down.
Other good deals:
Consumer Reports notes that October is the perfect time of year to get great deals on bikes, gas grills, winter coats, and digital cameras.
Have you got any good insider tips about what to buy in October?

I’ve found that stores like Target, Marshal’s and what not tend to start putting their backpacks and school bags on clearance, in late Sept and Oct. last year I picked up a pretty decent backpack for my daughter for $5 I believe it was normally $25. This year I picked up a new shoulder school bag for my wife for $9, this one was normally $30. This i also the season to get some decent discounts on all lawn care products and furniture.
