What I’m Digging: The Clearance Rack at Kohl’s
So I’m just back from Kohl’s. My entire family was in need of undergarments and they were having a major sale. When I got there I was pleasantly surprised at how major the sale was. The clearance rack yielded a bargain bonanza. I bought several pairs of flannel pajama pants for $2.00 each.
I ask you, is there nothing better than putting on the flannels at the end of the day and relaxing? I agree. At $2 a pop I couldn’t pass up the bargain. So what if they have penguins and igloos all over them. They can hang out in my unmentionable drawer with the Eiffel Tower flannels.
Have you spotted any good bargains lately?

I love the clearance rack at Kohl’s and am TOTALLY JEALOUS of your PENGUIN find! (Might be obsessed over the penguins, I mean how many pairs of flannel penguin PJ’s does one need, even if they are on sale!)
Target and JcPenney tend to have great online clearance sales too…

@Beth - You can’t beat that bargain. At $2.95 I hope you stocked up.
@ Jennifer - I’m not a big penguin person, but for $2.00 I can become a fan.

hehe, You mean you don’t wear them inside the house during the day? Oops. I took over my hubby’s and whenever he leaves I’ll sneak into our room and grab his extra pair. Shhhh, he has no clue.
We recently had a huge sale at sears grand we bought several onesies at a few cents each.

Eliza - I’ve been known to get the mail and put out the trash in my flannels. My husband is mortified but I’m not getting dressed for a 30 second trip down the driveway.

I got some great bargains today myself - at Good Will. I admit, I’ve shopped consignment before but never thrift. But I decided it was time to give it a try.
I got two pairs of shorts, a t-shirt, a casual dress shirt and a new pair of Levi’s - all for my boys - for $7.95.
Now that’s a bargain.

Oh man! I need some new pajama pants so badly!
My penguin ones just sprung holes in the legs. I was wondering where the draft was coming from. lol I’m gonna have to throw them out.
I noticed the seams are another pair are coming undone.
I had another pair that were wearing out. They had a small tear in the fabric from where the fabric was wearing out. Well, last week the tear ripped! In the past week I have lost 2 pairs of pj pants! :( The others are about to go too.

Coldwater Creek has a great outlet section, and they usually have a coupon code for a certain percent off that makes it an even better deal. I shop the accessories department to stock up on small gifts like earrings, bracelets, necklaces and such to give to coworkers for birthdays and things. Go to wantnot.net to get today’s coupon code. This is not my blog, but one that I read often and love.

I noticed the local st. V’s thrift store was having a 99 cent coat sale. No coats the right size, but I scored 4 pairs of snowpants in graduating sizes for 99 cents each! This will take us well into the “um, snowpants are for babies, mom” stage.
ps. I have a penguin collection! It was our HS swimteam nickname.

Just a note for Kohl’s buyers - if you sign up to get updates from their website, they will send you a $5 certificate. It took well over a week for it to be e-mailed to me after I signed up, but it did arrive.

I work at Kohl’s and even though I get the employee’s discount, I try to shop mostly clearance items. Other than clothing or jewelry, most clearance can be found by walking the perimeter of the store and peeking down the aisles. One tip I can offer to clearance shoppers at Kohl’s: Don’t buy it when it’s 60% off. We have sales that are better than that. Wait until it’s at least 70% off if you can handle the stress of hoping it is still available by then. It’s a game of chance, but it has paid off for me more often than not. And..if it’s gone by then, maybe you weren’t meant to have it after all.
