This Week’s Grocery Trip Under $40
This week, I went to Walgreen’s and spent $3.73 and then I headed to Food Lion to spend $27.15.
At Walgreen’s I got:
Crest ProHealth toothpaste (will get a $3.79 rebate)
Chinet plates (on clearance and a coupon =75 cents)
Oreo cookies (2 packs printed $3 in Register Rewards. I saw a sale next week on 2 packs and milk that prints Register Rewards. They may have this set up wrong.)
Three glue sticks (49 cents each on clearance)
Bottled water ($2.50 for the case)
Fabric softener sheets (I’ll have to take my receipt back. They were on clearance for $1.49 and rang up $2.99)
I used Register Rewards from last week’s cleaning deal and coupons to bring my total down to $3.73 after tax and got the surprise $3 Register Rewards back.
At Food Lion, I got:
3 types of dog treats on clearance or free with coupons
3 packages of alfalfa hay for the little guy’s Panda Bear hamsters (on clearance for $1.19 a bag.)
Sausage -big pack
Huge pack of ribs - 2 meals worth
Chicken breast -large size pack
Chicken tenders (Food Lion brand. Came to $2.99 for a big bag after a sale and printed Food Lion coupon. Make sure you sign up for their emailed newsletter! I get great deals using the coupons they email out each week.)
Cecil Whig (Traded with my mom for a loaf of bread that she got in a buy one get one free sale, so got a loaf of bread for 50 cents.)
Two weeks worth of meat and dog treats and enough hay to last the hamsters until they go to the great hamster home in the sky for $27.15. Now, If I can just figure out what I bought that was called Verona Farms for 49 cents…I don’t think I bought anything that matches up. Agghh!! Two stores in a row to take receipts back to.
Anyway, that’s this week’s trip. I’ve saved a bit back in case I can get to Rite Aid to see if they got the cereal shipment in by Saturday. They had a great sale this week, but were sold out.
