The Ng Family Christmas Tree

by Deborah Ng on December 22nd, 2007

Chrstimas Tree 07

I hope you’re enjoying your holidays. No matter what holiday you celebrate, it’s all about spending time with family and friends. With a five year old in the house, you can imagine Christmas is especially magical through his eyes.

One of my son’s favorite things about Christmas is decorating the tree. We did go fake this year, something we feel will save us money and also help us breathe easier as we all suffer from allergies.

Here’s our Christmas tree. It has the usual round store bought ornaments, plus some personal touches. My son and I started that paper chain when he was two and every now and then we add some more links.

We also decorate our tree with candy canes and every kid (young and old!) who visits gets part of our tree to take home. We also have lots of handmade ornaments from friends and family.

From my family to yours, happy holidays!

Thank you for sharing. I haven’t seen a paper chain for a long time. It brings back memories. I’ve enjoyed your sites and writing for a while now, so my thanks for sharing extends to that too. Have a wonderful holiday.

Thank you, Sherry. And happy holidays to you too.

I don’t know how long my son will want to do stuff with his old Mom so I try and find things like the paper chain and the ornaments that we can do together and can reflect back fondly upon when he’s in his teens and older.

I appreciate your reading my blogs.
