Stay Warm and Cozy at Home WITHOUT Going Broke
With winter fast-approaching, headaches caused by high energy bills start pounding, too. Preparing your home to be winter-proof is one way to deal with this problem. If you haven’t been loving solar panels yet, here are some tips on how you can begin with your anti-high-energy-bills-during-winter crusade:
1. Keep Mr. Frosty out of the house by making sure your doors and windows are in mint condition.
2. Be buddies with your handyman and ask which quality thermostat you can buy that won’t bite much from your budget and keep frostbites away.
3. Be a wise-spender when buying appliances, if you have to buy new ones, of course. Many appliances now have energy-saving features or models. Don’t be afraid to ask sales clerks which ones will help you save money. Reading labels intently may help you stumble upon some energy-saving tips, too.
4. Use electric fans. The energy they will use can be just a fraction of what AC units will use.
5. Be enlightened with which light sources to use. Compact fluorescent lamps are suggested if you are into getting the most of your money. They are said to last 5 to 13 times more than standard incandescent bulbs.
