Prairie Paints - Recycled Redecorating
Here’s an interesting product. It’s been developed by Robert Redford’s Sundance General Store and made available through their mail-order and online catalog. Prairie Paints have all the qualities of a signature designer paint line, but what sets these apart from the rest is the fact that they contain only post-consumer paints.
It’s recycled paint! Sundance has set up a supply system whereby designers and other bulk paint users turn in their overages and leftovers and Sundance then blends it all into perfectly matched, quality paints that don’t leave a environmental footprint.
Prairie Paints come in six eco-colors, dubbed Hemp, Moss, Sky, Wheat, Wine and Moonlight, and while they may not be the thriftiest choice at $25 per gallon, they get my vote for being such a cool recycled product. Plus the fact that it comes in a ‘Hemp’ color.
Here’s the Prairie Paints page at SundanceCatalog.com.
Thanks to Michael at GroovyGreen for the tip.
