Parents as Handyman Substitutes
Parents’ love for their children is unconditional. They provide them with the best education they can afford and all of the finest things in life they think their kids deserve.
Now, this unconditional love has reached heights even to the extent of becoming at the beck and call of their needy offsprings when they need some home remodelling help!
No this is not parental slavery at its stealthiest. But a practical way of parents showing their care for their kids.

This is an average of six billion pounds each year, the bank’s insurance arm indicates. According to the article, the usual home touches or re-touches that could very well make use of parents’ helping hands are the following:
- gardening
- painting
- wallpapering
- and general DIY’s
But before you go calling your dad to help you with your fixer-upper plans, make sure he is in-the-know with the how-to’s first. You don’t want to get into trouble of getting a rock to hit your head with, you know what I mean…
