Off Peak Travel Deals
Sharon Rosenberg of MiamiHerald wrote an article about end-of-summer travel deals. One can really save on costs by having your vacation off-peak.
A lot of the travel sites has a “discount” or “deals” page. These are some of the places I use to search for good travel deals.
Cheaptickes.com, priceline.com, hotels.com, skyauction.com, travelocity.com, expedia.com, orbitz.com, and of course yahoo farechase.
Sharon said….For my own little end-of-season trip, I’m taking the off-season route. We’re checking into a major resort in the Miami area. Off-season rates represent a significant savings. The resort quoted us a per-night rate of $159, compared to peak season rates of $269 to $429. When I mentioned our Triple-A membership, we were offered $143 per night.
I kinda like off-peak travelling. I’ld rather save up on travel and hotel costs and then use the money for try out more local cuisine, visit more places, or for souvenirs.

I agree! Aside from cheaper rates, I also enjoy it more because there tend to be less crowds. One just has to choose a place where the weather is likely to cooperate any time of the year. And that’s why I love Asia!

Same here, I hate large crowds and I love asia too. Actually, I love any country (except lebanon or any country at war). I believe each country has a lot to offer in terms of culture, cuisine, and beautiful places.

I really hate large crowds myself. I travel weekly for business and would prefer to go during off peak times to a vacation destination.
