How to Save Money on Car Rentals

It’s usually better to have car rental arrangements from home because advanced bookings generally allow you to enjoy lower rates.

Rates for car rentals may go down if you can meet all the conditions required by the rental shop. Thus, make sure that you’ve brought with you all your insurance and identification documents.

Similarly with vacation rentals, rent by the week instead of paying for the daily rates if you’re reasonably sure that you’re going to stay that long anyway.

If there’s a diesel-powered car available, rent that instead because you’ll save more money on fuel expenses. If all the cars are gas-powered then choose the one that’s most energy-efficient. Always base your choice on efficiency and not on looks!
Secondly, if you know how to drive in manual mode then choose cars that use stick shifts instead of automatic because they’re a lot cheaper as well.

Take a taxi cab to the car rental site instead of having your rented vehicle delivered to the airport. Car rental shops tend to overcharge customers when they opt to have the car ready and available upon landing.
