Baby Blankets, Burp Cloths and Diapers, Oh My!

I’m trying to organize my house a bit as it’s getting a little untidy. My son’s stuff is the biggest offender. What to do with all his old stuff? I’ve been freecycling a lot of the old clothes and toys, but there are some items that are rather used and worn and I don’t feel right about giving them away. Here’s what we’re doing with a some of the old baby things:

• Unused cloth diapers - My husband uses them to wash and buff his car. If they’re good enough for our baby’s bottom, they’re good enough for his baby.
• Wash cloths and burp cloths - Still use ‘em! Some I use for us in the bath or shower and some I use as hand towels at the kitchen sink.
• Baby blankets - My son took a couple of baby blankets and lined boxes with them for our two kittens. I also used one to stuff a pillow. They also make good lap blankets for the five year old in the car.

I also use some of these items for rags and polishing cloths. My point is that almost everything has another use. Don’t throw anything away until you’ve explored all possibilities.
