7 Tips for Cheap Hotel Rooms

by Kevin Humphrey on December 5th, 2005

Cheap Hotel RoomsFodors.com has an article outlining 7 ways to finding cheaper hotel rooms. If you’re the sensible type who’s more interested in a decent place to lay your head and not spending all of your traveling money on a place to sleep, then here are some helpful and simple tips.

  • Be Flexible - Different regions have different peak tourist seasons and times, so do a little research and plan your trip for the off-season.
  • Use You Frequent Flyer Miles - If you’ve got some, use them! Check with the credit card company, airline or bank that you have a loyality membership with and see if they have any special deals available.
  • Check the Hotel’s Web Site - The large travel booking web sites are middlemen and hence are taking a cut of the action. Go directly to the source and you might also come across some last minute deals.
  • Don’t be Afraid to Haggle - It never hurts to ask!

Head on over to the Fodor’s web site to catch the rest of their tips and if you’ve got any that you’d like to share here, please feel free.
